The National Chamber Orchestra of Armenia invited to participate in International Chamber Orchestra Festival

The National Chamber Orchestra of Armenia has been invited to Moscow to perform at the International Chamber Orchestra Festival on May 17-20. On May 19, the Moscow Soloists Chamber Ensemble, whose artistic director and conductor is Yuri Bashmet, will celebrate its 30th anniversary. On this occasion, in 2022, a special festival of Chamber Orchestras will be held, in which 5 leading chamber orchestras will take part. Five concerts are planned within the framework of the festival, of which the NCOA, headed by conductor Anton Shaburov, soloist Sona Barseghyan (piano) will perform a separate concert on May 18 in the Tchaikovsky Hall of the Moscow Philharmonic. The composition Symphony for Timpani and String Orchestra by Edward Mirzoyan will be performed. The orchestra will also perform at the jubilee concert on May 19 in the big hall of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory. All five orchestras will perform works written especially for that day.

"We are especially pleased that the performances of the National Chamber Orchestra of Armenia in Moscow coincide with the 60th anniversary of the founding of the orchestra, the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Russia," -USSR People's Artist, festival's artistic director Yuri Bashmet and the producer of the festival Dmitry Grinchenko noted. 

The National Chamber Orchestra of Armenia accepted the offer with great pleasure and is actively preparing for the concerts. In a few days, conductor Anton Shaburov will arrive in Armenia to rehearse with the orchestra and prepare for responsible performances.
